About Me


Michael Lorber's deep passion for real estate started early on. In his childhood he went to many open houses with his father, a prominent name in the brokerage business; and as he got older, Michael worked on the occasional spec house on Long Island where he grew up. Today he is an expert who has not only overseen numerous residential renovation and construction projects, but has become immersed in high-profile residential sales and marketing.

Michaels rise in real estate was a natural progression. A native of Long Island's South Shore, he graduated from the prestigious business school, Babson College in Wellesley, MA, with a BS in Real Estate and Finance. While in college, he spent summers working for Donald Trump and after undergrad he decided to go to law school where he specialized in tax law. During his studies at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Michael purchased a brokerage firm in Boston, while his father acquired Douglas Elliman in New York. After passing the New York State Bar Exam, Michael earned his masters in Real Estate (MSRE) at New York University. As an attorney who'd helped procure and sell hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars worth of real estate, he also felt compelled to go for his brokerage license. For Michael, it was time to pursue his real passion - real estate.

In 2006, he joined Douglas Elliman and currently serves as the Director of Business Development for Douglas Elliman Worldwide Consulting, where he and his team focus on International New Development Marketing.

Outside of work, Michael is very active in philanthropic endeavors and serves as a director of Love Heals and the MGH Cancer Center Leadership Council. He also serves on the Board of Overseers of Children's Hospital Boston, The New England Aquarium, and Babson College. Additionally he serves as Chairman of the Babson College Young Alumni Development Committee and on their Steering Committee for the Babson Rising Fund. For fun, Michael is an avid outdoorsman, backgammon player, collector of art, watches and rare books, boater, and dog lover! He enjoys spending summers in Nantucket with friends and in Southampton with his family. Winters are reserved for Fisher Island in Miami Beach and Palm Beach.
